How many times have you gone to an event, with your mates, with your partner, on your own even.....and that point in the night arrived when the bar was no longer the trendy place to be hanging out. That point when (for everyone else) the dance floor was where it was all happening!
And to make things worse, you have nothing that even resembles a cool dance move to pull out of the bag, if you were to head into the 'zone'.
We have all been there, hoping the person asking us to dance would just give up and move on to someone else, or, that a large hole would appear and...........well, you know the rest!

Confidence, to get up AND head straight for the middle of the dance floor. Dancing Is A Great Cardio Workout
Like any good, low-impact cardio workout, dancing can improve cardiovascular health, increase stamina, strengthen bones and muscles and stave off illness.But aside from the perks associated with any heart-pounding activity, dancing has a cardio edge with unique benefits that actually can't be achieved by other low-impact exercises. An activity like running on the treadmill may improve cardiovascular endurance and body composition, but an activity like dancing can actually target those two as well as muscular endurance and flexibility. And that's on top of improved balance, agility, coordination, power, reactivity and speed.
It Can Be A Social Activity
As much as we all love to dance when there's nobody watching, there's something irresistible about dancing with other people, whether it's with a partner or a class-full of fellow booty shakers. "Group dance class is seeing a surge in popularity especially with the increase of dance programs on TV like BBC's Strictly Come Dancing program and The Greatest Dancer helping to bring Latin and ballroom dance styles to the forefront of modern dance. The great thing about dance is that it's inclusive. I think anyone can just start to dance and enjoy the experience. If your nervous about dancing in front of people then start out in your own living room, moving to a song you just can't resist. There is a dancer in all of us and when we move our body to the music we naturally smile and want to keep moving. You really shouldn't let two left feet keep you from joining in on the fun. Don't be intimidated because you feel like you're not a good dancer. We have all started as beginners at some point and we are always learning, no matter how long we have danced.
Anyway, who cares? Zone out and focus on how great you feel, despite what you might think, no one is really judging your abilities.
It Really Is Fun
If exercise is not an enjoyable experience, we're not going to do it. The bottom line is that dancing is, plain and simple, fun in the way a monotonous treadmill run probably never will be. Plus, busting a move can trigger the release of feel-good hormones like serotonin and endorphins. People think, 'I'm not exercising, I'm dancing', but at the end of the day, you're moving and you're burning calories and that's good, right? It's just as good as a cardio class and can be just as addictive. Not only will you be more likely to stick with a fitness routine if it's fun, but you'll also want to do it for longer. This will push you to move for a longer period of time than typical exercise, purely because it's a lot of fun and not the dreaded word 'exercise'. Dance inspires people to get in shape by doing something they love to do, something which if fun and exhilarating.

There really isn't any excuse for not being able to dance. It IS good for you. You WILL make new friends. You DON"T need any experience to start. You WILL have a great time learning.
A partner ISN'T required to go to a class. People who are less able than other's CAN learn.
